the future?

“And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability.” (Matthew 25:15)

Achieving financial well-being isn’t about becoming rich. It’s about using the money you earn to meet your goals, care for yourself and your family, and prepare for the future. When we take good care of the money we have, we become wise stewards of the blessings God has given us. Here are some ways to do so.

  1. Learn to manage your money. It’s important to master the basics of money management. That includes spending less than you earn, living within a budget, giving charitably, and saving for the future. You can learn more about how to do so from the Core Financial Principles Course in the Learning Center or the Church’s Self-Reliance Services.
  2. Invest wisely. At its heart, investing is using money you have now to improve your life in the future. That can mean saving money, putting money into a retirement fund, investing in your business, investing in a purchase that will appreciate in value, or investing in yourself by gaining professional training. Counsel with the Lord to know what investments are in your best interest.
  3. Be wise in good times and in bad. When you are living paycheck-to-paycheck, you probably pay close attention to your income and spending. In more financially stable times, money management can become less of a priority. However, these are the times to make sure you are still living within your budget and making wise financial decisions.
