One year later ICS-GSD?, lung CT Scan and Family History
Just as I thought I would enter a post saying that I have now given 5 people access that have been awarded jobs I applied for (Field Support Supervisor, 3 FMs and 2 category managers) I read my previous blog from almost exactly one year ago:
About mid 2018 they took our help desk team from meetinghouse facilities to Information and technology. In the beginning of March 2019 Eve and I started a new direction for our team ticket system. We moved to the WOB where the GSC (Global Service Center) is housed. They are a great group.
We were promised better pay whether we ended up staying at the GSC as their employees or return to the COB. It was to be a 3 month test period. We went on line wiht the new system on March 22 and our parking passes expired today. Two days ago Tony our manager at ICS said we were on our way to being employees at the GSC, but monies needed to be transferred between the departments. We still do not know what our new director, Gilbert, is thinking as far as pay. We are waiting to hear...probably another week before any news...
Today I received a ticket form the FM that did get the Saratoga Springs FM job. Also, Tony told us that if our case to move our head count from ICS to GSD dose not get presented to the Bishopric soon, we will be waiting until August at least because the brethren go on vacation in July.
I also had a full CT scan of my lungs today to see if I have other nodules besides the ones they found when I was in the hospital for ischemic colitis.
On the bright side, I went to the storage unit and got some family history stuff (cards and travel memorabilia) to sort through. Also I went through the genealogy sheets that Papi had typed out years ago and got rid of any duplicate sheets.
